Why a product code is useful—and insufficient
A stable code is easier to search and less ambiguous than a casual product name. It can also connect an album caption, spreadsheet row, seller reply, and QC photo set.
Codes can be reused, mistyped, shortened, or changed. A complete match also needs visible item details, option, responsible business, and current quote conditions.
A reliable product-code quote sequence
- 01Copy the code
Preserve capitalization, spaces, hyphens, and any model suffix.
- 02Save the source page
Keep the exact URL and a dated note of the visible product.
- 03Specify the option
Name the color, size, material, model, or configuration.
- 04State quantity and destination
These affect MOQ, unit tier, packing, and freight.
- 05Request a restated quote
Ask the reply to repeat the code and assumptions.
A product-code price request
“Please quote product code [CODE] shown at [URL], option [COLOR/SIZE/MODEL], quantity [QTY]. Please state the currency, unit-price tier, MOQ, availability or lead time, included packing, and shipping to [COUNTRY/POSTAL CODE]. Please confirm that the quote refers to this exact item.”

If the code and item do not match
Stop comparing prices and ask the contact to explain the visible difference. Do not solve the mismatch by choosing whichever photo or number looks better. A corrected reply should point back to one item, one option, and one current page.
